This page is a concept prototype. The estimates are computed from an illustrative static rate table, not live carrier rates. Nothing here is a quote, nothing is bookable, and LotWagon does not arrange freight. Until this feature ships for real, fulfilment stays exactly as every listing states it: buyer pickup, or delivery arranged by the seller under the seller's terms.
Freight-in-One-Click · Differentiator 04
The delivered price, up front.
Heavy equipment dies at the freight question — a fair price in New Jersey, a mystery charge to Ohio. LotWagon shows an honest freight estimate band on the listing, computed from the machine's real weight and dimensions, so the delivered price is a number a buyer can plan around.
Sellers pay a flat 8%. Buyers pay zero fees, ever.
ESTIMATE BUILDER
Build a lane
Unit (weight and dims come from the listing record — a listing without them shows no estimate, never a guess)
Counterbalance rider on a shipping cradle. Weight and dims from the listing's structured record — the same fields Snap-to-List extracts.
Destination (origin is the seller's yard: Seller yard · Elizabeth, NJ · 07201)
Delivery conditions at the destination — each one is a real carrier charge, shown before it surprises anyone
FREIGHT ESTIMATE · 07201 → 43215
$2,158 – $3,173
Estimate, not a quote. Not bookable.
Class 60 · 32.7 lb/cu ft · 8,900 lb (data-plate photo, verified).
DELIVERED PRICE, SHOWN SPLIT
$9,400 + freight $2,158–$3,173
= $11,558 – $12,573 before sales tax. Sales tax calculated at checkout. Buyer pickup at the seller's yard is always shown alongside, at no freight cost, when the listing offers it.
- Shipping dims 112 × 50 × 84 in (ai-extracted from listing photos, seller-confirmed) → 272.2 cubic ft.
- Density: 8,900 lb ÷ 272.2 cu ft = 32.7 lb/cu ft → NMFC class 60 on the density scale (Docket 2025-1).
- Linehaul: $39 per 100 lb (illustrative static table, 485-mile band) × 89.0 cwt, with the standard LTL weight break at this weight (×0.55) = $1,909.
- Fuel surcharge at an illustrative 28%: $535. In production this follows the DOE diesel index and moves weekly.
- Accessorials selected: Liftgate at delivery $95 — total $95.
- Point estimate $2,539 → shown as a band, $2,158–$3,173, because a static-table estimate is a range in reality: carriers reweigh, reclassify, and price lanes differently.
- The freight estimate is never charged through LotWagon in v1 and is not part of the 8% commission base. If a buyer chooses seller-arranged delivery, the seller's stated terms govern — see the listing.
Scripted concept simulation — no carrier is queried on this page and no rate shown here can be booked or held. Accessorial figures are illustrative mid-range values from published 2026 LTL ranges. A live version prices from a broker integration and refreshes the estimate at checkout; the band stays, because freight pricing is a range until a carrier accepts the load.
THE METHOD
Three parts, in order
1 · The record
Weight, shipping dimensions and freight-relevant facts come from the listing's structured record — data plate and photos via Snap-to-List, each field carrying its source. No dims, no estimate. The platform never invents a weight to fill a panel.
2 · The class
Density — weight over cubic feet — maps to an NMFC class on the 13-tier density scale in force since July 19, 2025 (Docket 2025-1). Class, lane distance and delivery conditions produce the estimate, and every step is shown in the trail above.
3 · The band
The answer is published as a range with its working shown, labeled an estimate on every surface it touches. A single confident number for a 9,000 lb machine moving 500 miles would be a lie with good formatting.
FOR SELLERS
Your yard is not the edge of the market
A buyer five states away can see what your machine costs delivered before they message you — so the inquiries that arrive are from buyers who already accepted the freight. Your listing still states your own fulfilment terms: pickup, or delivery you arrange. LotWagon estimates; it does not take your freight over.
FOR BUYERS
No mystery charge at the end
The price on the tag, plus a freight band you saw before you committed, plus sales tax calculated at checkout. That is the whole arithmetic. No buyer fees, ever — and when an estimate cannot be computed honestly, the panel says so instead of filling the space.
HONEST LIMITS
What v1 does not do
No booking, no carrier selection, no delivery dates, no transit promises, no freight charged through LotWagon, and no estimate at all for units over standard LTL limits, uncrated machinery, or listings missing weight or dimensions — those route to the seller's stated delivery terms. Estimate-versus-actual variance is the carrier's and the parties' matter under those terms in v1; the full reasoning and the Phase 2 booking question are in the Freight-in-One-Click v1 spec.
